Rocamadour

Famous site of the pilgrimage of the Black Virgin since the Middle Ages, the town is perched in the side of a cliff.

One can climb the 287 steps to the top, or take the lift.

Nearby is the eagle park, where every day there are marvellous displays above the cliffs.

St Cirq-Lapopie

Designated the premier village in France, it offers spectacular views of the valley of the river Lot, along with superbly restored residences and shops.

Sarlat, Domme, Souillac

Villages close to the Valley of the Dordogne. Sarlat in Perigord has been the natural backdrop to several films. Domme is an ancient fortified village built in golden stone. Souillac has domed abbey dating back to the 12th century.

Gouffre de Padirac

At 110 metres underground, the grotto is reached by boats along a river 560 metres long..

The vast caverns are spectacularly filled with stalagmites and stalactites.
